Doughnut Extravaganza - Scones

Michelle Fisher gave us an extra recipe for making scones.

1 package (2 1/4 tsp) yeast
1 cup warm water
3 1/4 to 3 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup cutter, melted and cooled
1 egg, beaten

Mix yeast in warm water. Add 1/2 of the flour and remaining ingredients. Once the dough has formed, add remaining flour a little at a time until a ball is formed. Allow to rise an hour. Roll out and cut into rectangles. Fry at 350 degrees until golden on both sides.

Top with butter, honey, powdered sugar, jam, Nutella, or anything else that sounds good!

-This dough can be stored in an airtight container and fried the next day.

-You can also throw everything in the breadmaker and set it to the dough cycle. When the bread machine beeps, you can roll it out and fry it- quick and simple.
